The ROME/REA Key Project at LCO

Intensive observations of Galactic Bulge stars undergoing gravitational microlensing provide the means to discover exoplanets in wide orbits. Hundreds of such events are routinely identified each year by the OGLE and MOA surveys. Our project uses the LCO robotic telescopes to observe pre-selected fields in the Galactic Bulge at regular intervals and we employ a reactive event assessment system that requests high-cadence observations when planet-like deviations are discovered in our data.
